Beale uses mixed media and texts to document journeys through real and surreal space as would an explorer or archaeologist. Both actual and imaginary, these journeys explore cultures, history, sexuality, and the social fabric of life, acquiring archival status, as through these she describes past histories and contemporary life whilst invoking hidden histories and memories. She lives and works in London. She studied at the University of Reading and Goldsmiths College.
Selected Solo Exhibitions include: Angela Flowers Gallery, Southampton Art Gallery, Richard Demarco Gallery, Scotland, The Akumulatory Gallery, Poland, and Saint Benoit, France. |

Central to Dobson’s practice is the German word “Verfremdung” implying an approach to representation which instead of being a response to the real visual world and its meaning, exists on its own terms. In his paintings, object impressions made on wet layers of acrylic paint are manipulated by subsequently applying several layers of thin paint, with an allusion to pixilation.. He lives and works in London and studied at Reading University. In 1997 he won the Logos Prize; in 2002, 2004 was shortlisted for John Moore’s; and, in 1998 for the Jerwood Painting Prize.
Selected exhibitions include:
2004 Art Bond, London. 2003: Bettie Morton Gallery, London; Brixton Open, London. |

In his highly charged and emotive 'hybrid photo/paint/print collages', Lamb trawls mercilessly through his and the world’s collective memory bank, unearthing fragments of hidden truth and forgotten realisations. The result is a series of newly defined and deftly designed truths that feign a sort of mystical authority for our contemporary times. Suggesting the revolutionaries of Fluxus and the Situationist International, Lamb's sharp juxtapositions and innovative compositions recall the aesthetics of the mid-century's upheaval. These jarring yet elegant compositions are born of a process, |

I am trying to explore the boundary between reality and fiction of what we believe and accept. The subject matter of my work usually involves figures and organic forms with regard to the properties of bodies. The biology of animals and plants has always been a reference in my work. The apparently imaginary creatures that I created attempt to address the possibility and potential in reality, which is integrated and inseparable from the imagination. The potential of undiscovered animals, plants, or even diseases and disorders has always been confirmed by the unpredictability of life. |

Butler’s paintings navigate the bureaucratic power hungry-chaos of urban cities teeming with business men, paper pushers, officials, snarling dogs of war and glaring neon signs. They are at once wry satirical explorations in the cool distant attitude of a social critic, and stirring painterly images. Key to his work is a convincing use of medium, making possible highly charged signification, lending the work graphic immediacy. He is currently professor of painting at the University for the Creative Arts, Farnham. Selected exhibitions include: 2001/2002 Arts Council Touring Exhibition.1999, Robert Sandleson Gallery, London. 1995: John Moores, Liverpool. 1994 East International, Norwich. |
