great drawing! We are in there now and still can't believe it is ours.....that building is going to provide us with firewood for years, under the hay there are tons and tons of tree trunks!

My friends showed me the barn on a farm they were buying. Made from an eclectic range of found materials and held together with innumerable invented joints, this impromptu construction was testament to the lifetime labor of one man. This massive, noble and rustic building was infested with woodworm and in an advanced state of decay and sadly had to be demolished.
I recognized elements in the process of its making that cross-referenced the approach and methods I had utilized in my recent architectural installations. In drawing it I felt I was both celebrating the impact it had had on me, affirming it’s value as architecture and prolonging it’s existence.
